Call for Board of Director

We are currently recruiting NEW Board Directors for the Richmond Delta Youth Orchestra Society (RDYO) for a two-year term. 

The Board governs, approves strategy and engages in discussion and debates on relevant issues. We are seeking a diverse and inclusive group of members who will work together as a governing body.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

​

★ Board Directors are expected to attend 6 (six) bi-monthly Board meetings per year. Board meetings are approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and held either online or in-person. Meeting schedule will be confirmed at the beginning of the season (September)

★ Attend Annual General Meeting (2nd Saturday of September) 

★ Provide governance to the organization 

★ Enhance capacity and work in collaboration with staff, faculty and volunteers ★ Serve on at least one committee 

★ Act as ambassador for RDYO at cultural and arts events

QUALIFICATIONS:

We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences, including but not limited to: 

★ Nonprofit governance Board experience 

★ Music/arts education and administration 

★ Community leaders and advocates 

★ Fundraising and development 

★ Philanthropy 

★ Marketing, communications, and social media expertise 

★ Finance, legal, human resources specialists 

★ Technology
